NICHOLAS A. CARLIN specializes in entertainment and intellectual property law, business law, and commercial and tort litigation. He is an experienced trial lawyer, handling jury trials, court trials, arbitrations, mediations and appeals. He represents a wide range of clients, including entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, start up companies, small businesses, film producers, writers, recording artists and producers, artists and art dealers, galleries, and injured persons and consumers.

Mr. Carlin has taught at the University of San Francisco School of Law, Hastings College of the Law, and the University of California at Berkeley Law School (Boalt Hall). He is a past Visual Arts Editor for the American Bar Association's "Entertainment and Sports Lawyer" journal, a columnist on Art Law issues for the periodical ART WEST, and a contributor to M.E.L.O.N. Carlin is a member of the Litigation, Business and Intellectual Property Law Sections of the State Bar of California, and has served as Judge Pro Tem of the San Francisco Superior Court.

Mr. Carlin is an entrepreneur and was co-founder and CEO of Kromos Technology, Inc. He is a United States National Chess Master, speaks French, and has been a performing musician for many years. He is currently principal cellist with Symphony Parnassus in San Francisco, and has played cello with the Berkeley Symphony and other Bay Area orchestras.
