PE&G attorney authors article on wage and hour lawsuits in professional sports
March 7, 2014 - Partner Cari Cohorn co-authored an analysis of recent high-profile wage and hour claims in pro sports, with a particular emphasis on Senne v. Office of the Commissioner of Baseball. The Senne lawsuit, filed February 7, 2014, alleges that Major League Baseball and the other defendants (who include, among others, Commissioner Bud Selig and the San Francisco Giants) -- through the minor league teams they control -- violate state and federal laws by failing to pay minor league players minimum wage and overtime. Ms. Cohorn's article examines potential defenses to these claims and appeared as the lead article in today's Sports Litigation Alert. It will also be published in Professional Sports and the Law.
